She says she tried to kill herself several times inside the property because the abuse was so wrong. Namibian Jessica Kaimu says her suffering went on for more than five years. When she was 17, she says Joshua raped her for the first time. She says that Joshua raped her again and again, which is why she had five abortions while she was there.
“These were backdoor type… medical treatments that we were going through… it could have killed us,” she shared with the BBC. Other people who were interviewed say they were beaten with horse whips and electrical wires and were often not allowed to sleep.
People thought TB Joshua was one of the most influential leaders in African history when he died in June 2021. He did, however, cause some trouble during his life when, in 2014, a guesthouse for church pilgrims collapsed and killed at least 116.
