Career

Aarti Shah used to take a bath with his father at the Champal Ghat in the childhood. From there she became interested in swimming. Seeing Arati’s interested in swimming her father got her enrolled Hathkhola swimming club. Learning of swimming in the club caught the attention of Sachin Nag.

Sachin Nag was India’s first Asian games gold medalist. In 1940, Sachin Nag set a record for the 100m freestyle. This recording lasted for 31 years.

  • Won 200m breaststroke 22 competitions between 1946 and 1951.
  • National championship in 1948, 100 meter freestyle, and won 200m best strock.
