Who is Kahhori in Season 2 of What If…?

Kahhori wakes up in a different world where she and her fellow Mohawk people are filled with the power of the Tesseract, also known as the Space Infinity Stone. She entered the “forbidden lake” to escape the Spanish conquistadors trying to take over.
Kahhori, whose voice was done by Canadian Mohawk actress Devery Jacobs (Reservation Dogs), made studio history as the first MCU hero with no comic book roots or background.
Doug George, a historian from the Mohawk Nation, says that including Kahhori in the MCU gives the world a much-needed Indigenous presence. He also says that it was a wise choice to let her live in a world where her people weren’t brutally colonized like they are in real life.

According to The Direct, Devery Jacobs is the voice actor for Kahhori in Season 2 of “What If…?”. Jacobs is a Canadian Mohawk actress who brings proper representation to the Mohawk people on-screen, just like her character Kahhori. She is known for her roles in “Reservation Dogs” and “Rhymes for Young Girls” and was also cast in the MCU’s upcoming “Echo” Disney+ series as a character named Julie.

Kahhori from Marvel is not from the comics
Kahhori from What If…? season 2 is an entirely new character for the MCU. She has nothing to do with Marvel Comics. There have been other times when Marvel Studios made characters just for the MCU. For example, Phil Coulson, Darcy Lewis, Layla El-Faouly, and Miss Minutes were all made just for the MCU.
But Kahhori’s abilities and storyline in What If…? season 2 might make her one of the most critical original MCU characters. She will show viewers a culture that hasn’t been shown much on screen before, and her connection to the Tesseract will take us back to the beginning of the MCU.
The History of Marvel’s Kahhori
It needs to be clarifiedunclear which of the nine stories in season 2 of What If… will bring Kahhori into the MCU, but Marvel Studios has already discussed some of her past. What occurs when the Tesseract hits the Earth and lands in the autonomous Haudenosaunee Confederacy before America was settled?
That question will be explored in one episode of season 2. The Tesseract will turn a lake into a way to reach the stars, giving the Mohawk woman Kahhori some exceptional abilities. Ryan Little worked with people from the Mohawk Nation to ensure the show was culturally accurate and that it would be aired in the language.
The cosmos was introduced in Phase 4 of the MCU, but what it is could be more apparent. The problem could be fixed in What If…? season 2. Mohawk historian Doug George praised season 2 of What If…? for telling Kahhori’s story from a Native American point of view.
He said the show was made “with the full cooperation of the Mohawk people from dialogue to decoration.” Also, Kahhori’s name is spelt ‘KAH-HORTI,’ and it means “she stirs the forest,” which could be a reference to her new powers from the Tesseract and her ability to get other people to join her cause, according to writer Ryan Little.
This new character, Kahhori, is fascinating for the MCU. She has a lot of power that could change the MCU forever.
How Marvel’s Kahhori Powers Work
Kahhori’s skill set in the second season of the MCU’s What If…? has yet to be shown much, but the first trailer revealed the new hero using her powers in different ways. The water in the lake that the Tesseract fell into has given her powers after being introduced to it.
These powers are similar to Carol Danvers, a.k.a. Captain Marvel. When Kahhori uses her management, her eyes and body paint glow a bright blue, giving off an airy vibe that spreads through a portal. She seems to have opened and gone through structures resembling Kamala Khan’s Ms Marvel.
Kahhori isn’t the first MCU superhero whose powers come from an Infinity Stone. Her appearance in Phase 5 of the MCU shows that the Infinity Stones are still important in the universe, even though Thanos destroyed Earth-616 in Avengers: Endgame. The Mind Stone improved the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver’s powers.
The Mind Stone also powered Vision’s vibranium body. Doctor Strange used the Time Stone many times, and the Guardians of the Galaxy once had the Power Stone. Kahhori’s powers may resemble Captain Marvel’s since hers came from a Tesseract-powered engine.
