Sanjay Dutt Career
The first movie Sanjay Dutt was in was Reshma and Shera (1979); he was only 12 years old. In 1981, Sanjay’s first movie role was in Rocky, directed by his father, Sunil Dutt. The parents were excited for the movie to come out, but Sanjay’s mother, Nargis, died of cancer before the opening.
The death of Sanjay’s mother broke him, even though the film was a huge hit. The news shocked him. It is said that he became hooked on drugs after his mother died. On the other hand, Sanjay’s childish behaviour had drawn attention to himself.
Due to his drug abuse, his father, Sunil Dutt, sent him to a drug rehab centre in the United States. Because of this, his Bollywood image was also hurt. After making a few movies, Dutt’s first big hit was “Naam,” which came out in 1986.
After that, he was in several well-known movies throughout his career. He was caught in April 1993, just three weeks before Khalnayak was freed, because he was linked to the explosions in Mumbai that year.
Not long after getting out of jail, Dutt appeared in several movies, including Vaastav: The Reality, for which he won his first Filmfare Award in 1999 for Best Actor. In the meantime, his movies Kaante and Jodi No. 1 came out in 2001.
But in 2003, Rajkumar Hirani’s Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. changed Sanjay Dutt’s look again. After the success of this movie, he was in Parineeta and Zinda, which were also big hits at the box office.
Also, his next film, Lage Raho Munna Bhai (2006), made him a big star. People liked how he played the lead role in the 2012 movie Agneepath. In 2017, he came back with the movie Bhoomi.
